We explored the different materials that objects are made from, in the classroom. We used magnets to walk around the classroom to see which things attached to the magnets and which ones would not. We discovered that things like the whiteboard, chair legs, which are made from metal attracted the magnet, while other things like books, wooden furniture did not. We then carried out an experiment with a partner to investigate whether smaller item like pencils, elastic bands, paper clips, paper, coins etc. would attach to the magnets. It was great fun discovering which items are magnetic and which are not.
