Paper Planes, Mini-Explosions and Oobleck

Later on in Science Week, we had even more fun activities and experiments planned. We made some super fast paper aeroplanes and had a paper plane competition to see which would go the furthest. Congratulations to Logan from our class who came 3rd in the 1st class competition.

We also made mini-explosions in Room 8 by combining baking soda, vinegar and a little bit of food colouring. The chemical reaction caused by mixing these ingredients caused an explosion. Have a look below to see our colourful explosions.

Finally, we ended Science Week by making some Oobleck. We mixed cornflour and water and watched a strange liquid form. After some further experimenting we discovered that Oobleck was solid when we held it and became a liquid again when we let it go. We had so much fun playing with Oobleck.
